Hello again, faithful minions, creators of all that is good, dark and questionable...Okay sorry, I forgot to take my pills....lets start over...
Hello again, how are you all???
Today I would like to do a book review, because, I read the book; "It's not how good you are, It's how good you want to be," by Paul Arden and it really catches you. I know the name is a lot to say but trust me, this book has you thinking. I must admit I don't usually pick up books like Paul Arden's much, but this was great.
Basically, its a guide to help you be a better thinker and person, job wise. But not only in that way, because it shows you ways to think outside of the box.
For example, one of the chapter beginnings, ask, "What is mean't by the word 'creative'?" and honestly most people don't realise that that word means something different to different people. This can be a big problem if you are trying to sell an idea to someone. So he says that one of the first things you should know before trying to sell a product to a client is finding out what he/she deems as creative...Do you even realise how much time and effort this will save you if you know what they look for before hand?!
I could go on and on about this book, but lets face it, I wont be doing the book or the author any justice. It's is one of those that you have to read for yourself to see just how great it is.
I must say though, that the thing I love most about the book is the format of it. Each heading draws you to it. Each paragraph, each picture imprints on you so that you remember. As he himself says and proves; what you say is one thing, but how you present what you say my make your point more memorable...Plus, I absolutely love how he gives it to you straight, he doesn't try to butter you up, he tells it like it is, the good and the bad. How many books go out of their way to do that, even when they claim to be helping out out? This is truely a book that is for anyone who wants to succeed, in whatever they are doing, even if its just studying
So in ending, I would like to give this book a 4 1/2 out of 5...only because I dont believe in giving totals...So go out and read Paul Arden's book. Trust me, its worth it.
So go out read on and remember, it's not how Good you are, Its how Good you want to be.
