BTS or Bangtan Boys is a seven member korean Hip Hop group. Its members line are made up of rappers Rap Monster (Leader), Suga and JHope, and singers; Jimin, Jin, V and Jungkook (the youngest). This band only has a few years under their belt so far but if they keep it up I think that they could be here for a very long time. There is something that feels very unfinished about this them, something very raw and I like that.
Writing their own lyrics and often producing some of their own songs gives their music a personal touch. Often it feels like whatever they are singing about is something that has really affected them or something that they have had experience with. Especially in their pre debut songs like Tears of School.
Many of their songs like Can you turn off your phone and 'No more Dream' cover topics that are not very typical in the music industry but ring very true in today's society.
BTS Cyphers deserves a current obsession review by themselves. I cant tell you how much I love these songs and rappers voices on these tracks are just amazing. You just have to hear them yourself, particularly Cypher part 2 Triptych and Cypher part 3 Killer.
For those who may not know, each album has a Cypher which feature the main rapper line; 'Rap Monster', 'Suga' and 'JHope'. These tracks introduce a new side to the group that is not very well known. Its very hardcore rap and a little gritty but hella good.
Now every member of this group is talented as hell and the rapper line is strong. Each one has their own unique style and flow and when they rap it doesn't feel repetitive or as if you are hearing the same person every time. The singers complete the BTS line up with with their notable ranges, pitch and sweet voices. Seriously watch Your My by the vocal line and you'll see what I mean.
If I could define each member with one word this is how it would go; Suga ~ Swagger or Coolness, V ~ Soulful, Jimin ~ Sexy, Jin ~ Dangerous, JHope ~ Awesome, Jungkook ~ (Jail bait, LOL no) Golden and last but definitely not least Rap Monster ~ Smooth.
BTS is one of the few groups give off the impression that they are having fun on stage when performing. They seem to like what they do and it shows.
Anyone who is interested in reality TV should check out their show American Hustle life. It shows the group interacting with some very famous old school American Rappers and learning about the culture of Hip Hop. I really like how they were given such a rare opportunity to get an inside view into the type of Genre that they are interested in. The show has lots of English as well for those of you that are not to fond of subtitles. I mean you still have reading to do but not as much.
If you are looking for something new or something different check them out. I promise you wont regret.
Favorite Songs from them : War of Hormone (Hormone War), Second Grade, Rise of Bangtan, Boy in luv, Cyphers and Danger (remix ver.) etc.
P.S. Everyone's waredrobe in War of Hormone was just perfectly suited to their personality. Also the dance for that song was really good too. Those guys can dance.
