After a very quiet Easter, I was having a conversation and realised that neither of us had been to the zoo in some time. Cue the impromptu trip with some friends to the Emperor Valley Zoo. Now the cost to enter the zoo was 30 dollars for adults and 15 for children. After entry although they give you a receipt the security doesn't like to let anyone leave for any reasons. So if you leave anything in your car or have to leave the compound for any reasons you will have problems.
The day itself was pretty good. The animals entertaining and there was so much to see that it was almost like taking a hiking trip. The zoo itself had gone under a number of renovations for the better, however although it was a big day in the year for zoo visitors some of the exhibits we're closed or still under constructions.
Positives
-getting to touch some of the animals that the zoo keepers brought out like the snake
-lots more bathrooms and seating areas
-stories from zoo keepers about the aminals
-the animals we're pretty interesting and some put on a bit of a show for all the onlookers.
Negatives
-the smell some exhibits smelled horrible and made me wonder how often they we're cleaned
-pricey food and drinks which weren't at all tasty
-some animals didn't look well taken care of but I am not sure about how they should be managed so I dont want to jump to conclusion to much with this one.
-the cafeteria wasn't stocked enough to meet the crowd and ran out of food. Also there was an incident involving my brother where they said he didn't pay for something which he did. The security didn't help at all with the situation. This alone could have ruined the day especially since looking at the camera could have solved the entire issue. He didn't get his money back or the item he paid for in the end either . It left a bad taste in everyone's mouth in a day that was otherwise pretty good. So if you go to the zoo avoid the cafeteria and bring your own stuff. Save yourself some money and time.
Noh needs to somehow come up with the money for the drums for his school club. Phun (who already has a girlfriend) needs someone to pretend to be his boyfriend so his sister (who is really into boy love) will convince his father not to make him go out with his friend’s daughter. Realizing that they could help each other, Noh and Phun make a deal that spiral into a series of events that bring the two boys closer together. The plot goes much deeper than that though and lots of time is spent in the novel developing the characters. We also learn more about the people who the main characters interact with on a daily basis.
