Hello good day and good morrow to everyone. How on you on this wonderful day? Great I hope. If you're from Trinidad and Tobago then today is a holiday for you too. Today is also the first of August which means my post of day challenge should have officially ended today. Yesterday was supposed to be the last day, BUT I want to extend the challenge until August 4th, because I started on July 4th might as well end it exactly one month afterwards.
What do you guys think about that?
Wow I started writing this after six and I stopped to watch a few episodes of a web show on youtube that my friend told me about and I ended up watching the entire season and the first episode in the second. Soo I guess that goes to show that when you're hooked, you're hooked.
Anyway today I would like to talk about the show my friend told me to watch and at the end of this post I'm going to post a link to the first episode just in case you want to check it out.
Well the show is called "Awkward Black Girl" and though it bares resemblance to MTV's "Awkward" it certainly isnt the same thing.
Awkward Black Girl stars Issa Rae as the main star "J" who works for a company that sells weight loss drugs. She is awkward in many forms of the word and has just broken up with her long time boyfriend.
We get to see the weird relationship with her and her fellow employees; her racially insensitive boss, germy girl who still comes to work although she got fired, whispering mumbling guy who always speaks so softly you have no clue what he is saying, best friend and also awkward companion Cece (who I suspect is crazy), weird woman who changed her name to sister Mary Clarence after she found Jesus (sister act lol), Nina the Nemesis, Fred the crush and a bunch of other funny characters who make the show funny.
The show starts off a little bit rocky but my friend promised me that it got better as the season went on and it certainly did. I am glad I stayed on for more.
As it went on we met White Jay who is a friend of Fred, but is just as Awkward as J our main character. There are sparks there and J is left to choose (with Cece's help) Between White Jay who understands her and Fred her crush, who is starting to show interest with her.
Tune into the show, its so worth it and doing some research I found out that Issa Rae wrote Awkward Black Girl so Hurrah for her. I expect great things from this show and (and Issa Rae) I cant wait to see the next Episode.
Words of advice for today: Do not wait until the last second to do something important. Time management is a problem for many of us. The best way to fight that is to properly plan ahead. Making sure you get everything done in time so that you get time to relax and not have to rush through anything.
Ciao for now, laterz and Auf Wiedershen!
P.s
Here is the link to the first episode and the playlist is at the bottom of that page so you can just watch one episode after the other.
And...
Just in case you want to check out the official website for the show.
