Good morrow to you and I how do you do on this lovely evening?
Today's post is going to be about travelling around the world. I want to start off by coming clean and letting you know that I have yet to leave the confines of my country to explore what exist out there in never never land or at the ends of the world. So my knowledge of the world is vastly limited by foreigners, friends and family who has explored other countries, things I've read, etc.
Honestly as much as I love Trinidad, it would bring me such joy to be able to experience, see and feel with my own eyes what is out there. I love history and tea (irrelevant) would love to see the ruins in Rome, the wonders of Venice, the beauty of Tobago (our sister isle but I've yet to even go there) and the secrets of the many wondrous places of the world.
However since my mom died, its very hard for me to think about anything else besides doing what is best for my brothers. Me, leaving here right now, when the youngest is only twelve and now starting secondary school is not the best thing. We need each other, all three of us. Its one of those moments when being the oldest of three siblings is the most frighting. What if I make a mistake? I guess that is where learning comes into play.
Anyway, my point is, that although I am limited right now, doesn't mean I'm giving up any of my dreams. Some day I will tour the world, discovering hidden places and ideals that will fuel my writing till I cant remember what writing block is. Someday....
Till then however I will be happy collecting postcards and other little trinkets from my friends from around the world.
My words of advice for today is: Never let the tragedies of life stop you. Sometimes things happen that may change your life but never forget your goals and your dreams. Always keep them within your eyesight and within your heart. Maybe you can even find something that is close to your aspirations and do that by the time.
I never used to think about collecting postcards or anything like that, but when I started to exchange postcards with other people from around the globe, it opened my mind to a whole new world of possibilities. Tell me some of your dreams, or of something that happened to you that you'd like to talk about or just mention. Ciao and stuff!!
