Grave Surprise, Book Review part 2

Hello, good day and good morrow to you all out there in the land of the unknown. How are you on this day in this hour? Great and colourful I hope. Today is a very draggy kind of day. Its not really dragging per say, it just seems later than it really is. I have some drawings to do for a competition that I plan on entering. I just need to update this first though.....
Now on to the important stuff, today I would like to finish my review of 'Grave Surprise'. So just to recap, the book, which was written by Charlaine Harris, is not one that I am soon to forget. It centers around Harper Connelly, who possess a unique gift that allows her to find and detect the cause of death of deceased persons and her step-brother Tolliver, who are in the business of around helping people find their missing loved ones after they suspect that the person is dead (or have been murdered as the case may be). If you read my first partial review of the book I go a little more in dept into the plot.
This book was one that had me. I was caught in it from start to finish. I must say though that it is not the best book I have ever read, BUT it is still a wonderful book that I will be adding it to the awesome shelf.
After coming to the end of the story I was still happy with the book. The killer was exactly who I thought it initially was, though there were moments in the book that made me question that theory and have doubts. Not that it was obvious, its just the clues were all there, just for them to start making sense.
The book has a very unworldly feel and very likable main characters. I must say that it is a very nice rainy day kind of book with a good deal of mystery surrounding it to give you a good read. When I was finished I couldn't help but hope that the author had other books with the same characters.
Lucky enough they added a sneak peak of ' Ice Cold Grave', another book with the same wonderful characters. This one involves missing boys. I cant wait to get my hand on it.
Words of advice for today: Trust your instincts, if something is bothering you maybe subconsciously, you picked up on something and your brain is trying to point that out to you. Sometimes that's why we have strange worries about something, or we get a bad feeling when you are around somebody or something. Don't cast it off as nothing but at that same time, don't act without proper reason. So first find out WHY you are having those feels towards those things, then after you figure it out, feel free to decide your best option. Acting on a feeling too soon can be just as hazardous as acting out too late.
Ciao for now, peace and Auf Wiedersehen!

  1. Thanks for the advice. Trusting ones instincts, but not acting impulsivel on them is something we should all try to do. I usually find myself on either end of the instinct spectrem and usually regret not acting sooner/trusting my feelings or acting too soon and making a bad choice. I'm still trying to find that balance, so thank you for making it easier for me to do that.

BTS SEX SCANDAL???

So I may be late to this because this happened last year but I just discovered this picture. So Apparently Jin from BTS was showing a tutorial or something like that and fans saw in the background a condom and freaked.....OMG I don't know where to start with this but its so ridiculous that I had to say something about it. As a result of fans(??) freaking out that their idols possibly having sex Big Hit Entertainment-the company behind the band- released a statement saying that it was given to them in a fan gift. FIRSTLY who cares if they are having sex or not. These people deserve to have a private life too!! Hey if anything at least it looks like they are being safe about it. Secondly you guys know how crazy fans can get especially KPOP fans so I wouldn't be surprised if a fan did send it. Plus fans probably have sent much worse things. That fan probably sent it and said something like, "Wear this when we meet." Or some other weird creepy thing like that. People i...

Love Sick (the Series and Novel)

Noh needs to somehow come up with the money for the drums for his school club. Phun (who already has a girlfriend) needs someone to pretend to be his boyfriend so his sister (who is really into boy love) will convince his father not to make him go out with his friend’s daughter. Realizing that they could help each other, Noh and Phun make a deal that spiral into a series of events that bring the two boys closer together. The plot goes much deeper than that though and lots of time is spent in the novel developing the characters. We also learn more about the people who the main characters interact with on a daily basis. Love Sick the Series is a 2014 Thai series that is based on the quite popular online Thai novel written by INDRYTIMES . The novel appropriately named; ‘Love Sick: The Chaotic Lives of Blue Shorts Guys’, follows the story of two high school boys who eventually fall in love. The series takes a step away from the novel adding additional characters and plotlines to the sto...

Kpop Meets Black Women (tumblr) Review

It’s not very easy being an international Kpop fan - especially if you are a person of colour. The reason for this, I am honestly not sure. I wonder if it is because Kpop exists outside of the stereotyped idea of what persons of colour are supposed to like. For some time now I’ve noticed that it’s especially worse when you're black. One such site that explores the intersection between Kpop fans and black people - specifically black women - is Kpop Meets Black Women . Now I’ve checked out this site a few times and there are lots of things here that you find on a typical fan website, regardless of what or who said website is dedicated too. With that said I have noticed that this site gets loads of negative attention for being what it is. That is why I have decided to review it, like I would anything else. It took me a while to put together because I have some strong opinions on this particular website and the amount of hate it receives on a regular basis. With that being said, I ho...
